Genital Warts Spread: Some Things to Know About the Viral Infection

Genital warts spread through sexual contact with a person who has the human papillomavirus or HPV. This virus causes the genital warts. It does not show any visible signs so inspecting your sexual partner before the sexual intercourse does not prevent you from the possibility of being infected. The warts grow in, around the vagina, and in the opening of the uterus in women, and on the penile tip and shaft as well as the scrotum in male. Both male and female can have genital warts spread to their anal region where it can cover the anal opening.

Genital warts can be so tiny, in the shaft of the penis where there is a large growth of skin; these warts may completely be covered and may grow without being seen. The treatments for it range from the various commercially available topical solutions to laser treatments and surgery. However, even with the treatment, genital warts spread cannot be completely stopped. Genital warts are very persistent and can grow back a few months after treatment. Also, the papillomavirus infection do not carry any symptoms so if you come in contact with a person having the virus in his system, you will again contact genital warts.

The best way to avoid the genital warts spread in your genital area is through complete sexual abstinence but since this is almost impossible to do save for those who had taken the vow of celibacy, the virus continues to spread.

Genital Warts Test: Physical Examination of the Warts

A genital warts test is conducted in various forms. The usual practice is through a visual examination. A genital wart is caused by the human papillomavirus which is transmitted through any form of sexual contact with an infected person. The warts associated with this viral infection usually grow in the genital and anal area of an infected person and size ranges in from very small ones that are almost invisible to the eye, to large shaft-like growth mass that resembles cauliflower. It can also be like small lesions that are sometimes reddish in color. These are the signs that a genital warts test looks for in order for a doctor to prescribe a cure.

These are the warts that are observed in a genital warts test. For those warts that are invisible to the naked eye, further testing is conducted through the use of acetic acid or vinegar. Any genital warts in the area that has been applied with the acetic acid will turn white that is readily visible to the eye. Once it has been determined that it is indeed genital warts, you and your doctor can decide on the form of treatment that will fit your financial status or personal circumstances.

However genital warts test for those that are not on the surface of the body requires a different testing method. There are genital warts that can be found in side the vagina or the uterus and these requires a different testing method.
