Genital warts spread through sexual contact with a person who has the human papillomavirus or HPV. This virus causes the genital warts. It does not show any visible signs so inspecting your sexual partner before the sexual intercourse does not prevent you from the possibility of being infected. The warts grow in, around the vagina, and in the opening of the uterus in women, and on the penile tip and shaft as well as the scrotum in male. Both male and female can have genital warts spread to their anal region where it can cover the anal opening.

The treatments for it range from the various commercially available topical solutions to laser treatments and surgery. The best way to avoid the genital warts spread in your genital area is through complete sexual abstinence but since this is almost impossible to do save for those who had taken the vow of celibacy, the virus continues to spread.
